This is a super strong big bag; unlike cheaper ones available. It easily fits a picnic with blanket or everything you need for a day out at the beach. Would highly recommend.

Really like this. Great for trips to the store for odds and sods ie nothing too heavy as I would like it to last. Also farmers market where no bags. No doubt will find other uses.

An absolute staple in my wardrobe

I love this basket! I no longer use any of my handbags, I just am the basket lady now!
It has a generous size and I wear it like a tote, I can have all my shopping in it and also and it just works for me.
To me it is very stylish and the quality is good and the handles are sturdy.
It definitely is a great staple in your wardrobe.

Doesn’t look like photo, but I do like it.

The basket it very nicely made. It doesn’t really look like the photo. It is much wider and less deep and the handles are longer than I thought they would be, but I’m happy with it and looking forward to using it at the farmers market next week. I saw some reviews saying the handles were too short to put over your shoulder – that is not the case with mine.

Lovely basket and I’m very pleased with it. A good size, packaged well and delivery excellent. If I had to say one thing it would be that I thought it may be a bit stronger. It feels quite light and initially I’m a little concerned regarding what weight it can carry. I won’t be filling it with heavy stuff anyway. Have seen others that appear very strong but a lot more expensive so I guess as this one wasn’t expensive you get what you pay for. Still love it and time will tell.

This was a great buy! It is well made, large and sturdy. I had been looking for a traditional French grocery bag in Quebec where I live for some time now…ever so pleased to have found this gem. I have used it to go fruit and veggie shopping as well as for canned goods. I have gotten questions about it and people have asked me where I got it. Le Papillon Vert has great service and so would not hesitate to order from them again through Amazon.

Good everyday basket

Slightly smaller than I expected. I’ve bought about 6 of these over the years – and they get a lot of abuse! This one is just a tiny bit small for my everyday carting needs but I’ll use it anyway.

Good sized shopping basket

Very good sized shopping bag/basket. Haven’t used it much as yet – do have slight suspicion it might not be as durable as some similar I’ve had before, eg some of the weaving is a little “ragged” in parts. Also, do feel that despite its size it might not be as strong as I had hoped for. Previous similar products, however, have given excellent service.

Great straw carry bag

This is a lovely straw carry bag – bought to replace one that had finally fallen to bits after years of use. Le Papillon Vert is quite big but not too big. Well made with nice faux leather handles. Price is reasonable too compared to some outrageous offerings out there.

This is a great buy ,came on time and was bigger then I thought which was a bonus as can get more shopping in and as I am under 5ft the Basket dose not hit the ground as with longer shopping bag handles and where with the old shopping Basket that would rub your hands this has lovely cumfy soft leather handles,it also looks very stylish ,yes to say I am over the moon with it is an understatement,would make a great Christmas Gift.

It’s O.K. It is much to big to carry around just when you pop out for a quick shop or putting it in on the bike. Nice but if I had a chance to see it before – I wouldn’t have bought it. Good quality though. Good handles.

BAGS OF STYLE

This is a present for my Sister who had always admired my own basket, It is beautiful it smells of hay and french air. It has soft leather handles which are firmly attached to the hand worked body of the basket. It is soft and pliable and will hold everything you could think of if you were taking this to the beach or all you lovely goodies for a (huge) picnic in the country (including 2 or 3 bottles of fizz as well as a softer option for the children) plus food and the essential waterproof blanket. I love the colour and if this is anything like my own basket which has seen much service will age with style. It arrived safely and speedily in a huge box a perfect transaction without problems. Go on join the revolution get a basket and save the earth and look chic at the same time . One thing if you have petit hands perhaps the longer shoulder straps would be an idea as the more you put into the basket the wider it gets, I have quite long fingers and I admit I do over load sometimes, and the handles get wider apart not to mention heavier so the shoulder straps would help with the weight.

Wonderful Basket!

In France everyone in the supermarket or the market place has one of these lovely baskets, they are so very practical and also gorgeous! You can fit an enormous amount of shopping into one of these and the basket and handles are sturdy enough to take quite a weight. I don’t understand why we don’t all have them here as they are so practical and environmentally friendly. At every check-out I get comments about my lovely basket… I wouldn’t be surprised if they became the next big fashion accessory!
