French Straw Basket Bag, Large size with Double Leather Straps – Natural Colour

Victoria describes her Sasha: “My go-to large straw basket bag for grabbing and going – she literally comes everywhere with me and is super useful for shopping, the beach and my yoga class”

This basket is the natural version meaning that the leather is unfinished and therefore has not been dyed to a deeper tan colour. For this basket, over time the natural oils from your hands and general use will form a patina on the leather. To speed up this process, you could very gently dab a light vegetable oil into the leather and leave to soak in. The Tan version is also available as a separate listing on our website.

NB: Hand woven plaits result in a step finish on the reverse side at the top of the basket, starting at the base in a similar fashion. This is the correct finish for this type of traditionally woven basket bag.

Your basket should stand up when loaded evenly (it may not if there is nothing in it or with unequal loads!)
